The KODAK Portrait 3D Printer includes cloud connectivity to allow the user to work with the printer remotely using our Kodak Cloud powered by 3DPrinterOS.
For slicing and previewing, we recommend using our KODAK 3D Slicer
This guide will provide you with instructions on how to upload and print your own models. There are a handful of ready-to-print models in the cloud from the start if you want to test your new printer out.
NOTE: To print in dual colors you need to add two (2) STL files to your print job and assign each STL file to an extruder before slicing. Dual extrusion is not possible with single STL files.
- Go to cloud.smart3d.tech and log in with your credentials (instructions to link your printer to the cloud).
- Click on the Upload button at the top.
- Selected the file(s) you want to upload from your local drive, Dropbox or Google Drive as single files or as a project.
(Optional) You can repair the models to fix any defects in them from the design software. This will generate an additional file with _repaired in its filename which you should then use to print. - Now click on Layout, next to the file you want to print, to add/position models and to define which extruders to use.
- To move model(s), click and drag the model's XY- or Z-selector into the desired place on the build surface. If you want the model(s) to be flat on the build surface, be sure to click on On Bed on the right-hand side before continuing.
- To add a model(s) click Add File, select which project to add files from, highlight file and click Apply.
- To assign model(s) to an extruder, click on the model(s), then Extruder, select an extruder, and then click Apply. Models that are going to be printed with Extruder I will be yellow and Extruder II will be green.
- Once you are happy with the layout, click on Save. A new file will be created within the project if you merged two models together.
- Click on the new file's Slice button to prepare the file for printing and select which materials and settings will be used.
- For dual extruder projects, select one of the profiles starting with Dual.
- To print using a single extruder, select the extruder to use in the drop list and then pick a profile based on the material you are going to use. This will override any extruder settings previously set in layout ~ e.g. Dual extrusion to single).
- Click on Slice & Toolpath Preview to generate a GCODE file, located inside the project storing extruder and material settings, to preview and to print.
- When you're ready, click Print.
- Select a printer and printing will start.
