Before you start, you need to download and print the belt tensioning tool using the following extruder/material setup:
PLA Tough | |
PLA+ |
Assemble the tool, the upper part (lever) can be used up to 40 times before it needs to be replaced.
- With the printer turned off, move the printhead SLOWLY to a center-rear position.
- Position the measuring tool as shown in the pictures. Make sure both ends of the tool get to meet in order to ensure getting accurate values every time.
- To get the accurate reading the tool must be positioned at the lateral belts of the printer. The reading will be made on the lower belt for the left side and at the upper belt for the right side.
- If the tension of the belt is correct, the lever will mark the delimited area. If the indicator marks below the point, it is necessary to readjust the belts of the printer. The device is sufficiently precise so it must be sought that the tension of both belts is located at the same point of the mark for both belts.
If you need to adjust the tension of the belts, please go here for instructions.
